Fulani Courting Dance part I

Description

Original Release Date: September 27th, 2019

This particular event highlights a deliberately overly exaggerated sensual, Fulani Courting Dance, traditionally preformed as part of the “rite of passage” of our young girls and boys. Here, the drummer is the object of affection; as he speaks through the tom-toms (drums) his desire for marriage. He creatively (through drumming and embellished gesture), challenges each girl to perform so that he might choose the most seductive as his future bride.
